As if anyone ever needed a reason to snack on mouth-watering baked goods, here's a good one. Over one billion tons of food is wasted globally every year. And when you use Renewal Mill's products, you're quite literally making the world a better place—one rescued food scrap at a time.

Renewal Mill—home of "climate-friendly baking"—upcycles byproducts from food manufacturing into delicious ingredients and products. Instead of contributing to the global food waste problem, the "waste" is upcycled into pantry staples.

That means oat milk flour is made from the oat pulp leftover from oat milk production, and okara flour is made by upcycling the soybean pulp generated during soy milk production. There's also ready-to-bake mixes that allow you to make planet-friendly cookies and brownies in minutes, all of which are vegan, gluten-free, and—gasp—pretty darn healthy.

Those ready-to-bake mixes are currently available in Brightly's October Product Drop from October 4th to 10th. You'll find the Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix, Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix, and a Pumpkin Spice Cookie Mix for $7.99 each. (And each comes with free Salted Peanut Cookies as a gift with purchase!) To make them, you only need to add two simple ingredients: oil and water. Yep, that's it.

Want to learn more about each upcycled mix? Here's what's in store.

3 Upcycled Baked Good Mixes That Better the Planet

Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned Snickerdoodle? This mix makes soft and chewy cookies made with okara flour from the soybean pulp generated during soy milk production. It also includes heirloom cinnamon from Burlap & Barrel, which has been equitably sourced from smallholder farmers in Vietnam.

Ooey-gooey eco-friendly brownies, coming right up. This fudgy mix is everything you could ever want: chocolately, chewy, and topped with a crinkly crust. Oh, and made from organic okara flour that keeps soybean pulp out of landfills.

'Tis the season of pumpkin spice everything—so why not add some cookies to the mix? Aside from using okara flour, this mix also uses a six-spice pumpkin pie spice blend made by Oaktown Spice Shop, which is known for sourcing high-quality, flavorful spices around the globe.
