- Craft 2-4 special interest emails per month
- Set editorial strategy + content calendar
- Assist with podcast production: creation of show notes, booking of guests
- Own SEO content-writing strategy
- Grow Brightly.eco web traffic + Good Together podcast downloads through data-driven content strategy
- Manage editorial assistant and freelance writers
- 5+ years of editorial experience
- Prior experience managing a team of writers, preferably in a newsroom capacity
- Familiarity with SEO-specific writing
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, flexible startup environment
About this job:
You will work closely with our CEO to set all editorial strategy and execute content creation, including branded content. The Content Lead will become a Brightly expert and continually fine-tune our editorial products to engage, grow, and inspire our readership. This means continually keeping your finger on the pulse of our community. You’ll need to foster an acute understanding of what a conscious consumer wants and determine the best way to deliver this information. Perhaps more importantly, you’ll be managing our editorial calendar to ensure our content helps motivate and empower others.
We’ll have you work closely with our broader team for content ideation and creation, including participating in brainstorm sessions and revamping copy for social handles.

We’re looking for someone with the creative chops to help manage our editorial processes, but who also understands how the business of media affects content creation. You should have at least three years of editorial experience under your belt. Experience with branded content is also a plus. You have a friendly personality and eagerness to join a team of motivated people in a positive work environment.
This position is remote and full time. Salary DOE with equity compensation. All candidates should be based in North America and willing to work Pacific Standard Time hours. Brightly is headquartered in Seattle, WA.
