Our Scouts Swapped Their Beauty Staples for Clean Alternatives from ILIA Beauty

When it comes to beauty: the science is out – going clean is better for you, helping you cut down your exposure to toxins and chemicals. The issue is, sometimes these kinder formulas don’t always perform. ILIA Beauty was founded in 2011 by Sasha Plavsic with the goal of not making consumers choose between sustainability and functionality.

In a world where there are now more clean beauty brands than ever before, we know it can be difficult to find a brand that’s sustainable, durable, and trustworthy.

We enlisted the help of our Brightly Scouts to compare some of ILIA Beauty’s top sellers to other beauty products they had in their closets.

Our Scouts agreed that ILIA’s products stand up to daily wear and are great alternatives to other items you might already be wearing.

In the words of Mirah, the best part about ILIA Beauty is their dedication to clean, cruelty-free ingredients, recycled packaging, and building a circular economy. They’ve partnered with TerraCycle in order to reduce landfill waste. You can mail them 5 empty beauty products (from any brand) per month and sleep guilt-free knowing they’re being given a new life.

At Brightly, we take our mission to ensure all of the brands and products we recommend to you are ethical and sustainable, and we love involving our community in the process. Want to join the next product swap? Join our Scouts program!
