Warm summer days aren’t complete without an iced coffee. Whether you’re commuting to work bright and early or are going for a walk under the sun, it simply makes our days better. And you’re in luck: Dunkin’ just released new summer menu items—including vegan and vegetarian options.
It’s been notoriously difficult for most people to find vegan and vegetarian options on restaurant and cafe menus. However, we’re seeing mindful menu upgrades at many of our favorite fast food chains, including Starbucks, Burger King, KFC, and now, Dunkin’. As more plant-based options are featured on popular menus, plant-based eating becomes more accessible to all.
Starting April 27, Dunkin’s summer menu will feature four new menu items and two returning summer coffees. And even though options like the new Signature Cake Batter Latte aren’t vegan-friendly, there are still plenty of menu items to choose from.
We’re here to break down what’s vegan and what’s vegetarian, so you can find your go-to summer order.
Dunkin’ Donuts’ Vegan Drinks for Summer 2022
Mango Pineapple Dunkin’ Refresher
Refreshers are a summer essential to keep you cool. Dunkin’ already has Strawberry Dragonfruit and Peach Passionfruit refreshers on its menu, but another flavor is making its way into our hearts: the Mango Pineapple Refresher.
This drink features tropical mango and pineapple flavors combined with your choice of green tea, lemonade, or coconut milk. And yes—it’s totally vegan, just like the previous flavors.
Sunrise Batch Iced Coffee
This returning coffee blend is part of Dunkin’s Limited Batch series, and it features coffee beans sourced from Latin America and Kenya. It includes cocoa and toasted nut flavors—yum! And you can easily customize this iced coffee blend into an all-vegan drink. Swap out dairy milk with a dairy-free alternative of your choice. Dunkin’ offers almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk.
Plus, if you like extra sweet flavors in your coffee, Dunkin’ has vegan-friendly flavor shots and syrups. The vanilla, hazelnut, and mocha swirl are all vegan-friendly. However, the other swirl flavors contain dairy, so be sure to specify when ordering.
Dunkin’s Vegetarian Treats
Tomato Pesto Grilled Cheese
This mouthwatering seasonal sandwich includes roasted tomatoes, nut-free pesto spread, and white cheddar cheese melted between Dunkin’s signature toasted sourdough bread.
While it’s not vegan, it is vegetarian—and it’s only available for a limited time. This sandwich pairs well with Dunkin’s vegan refreshers, making this the perfect summer lunch for picnics at the park.
Cornbread Donut & Donut Hole Treats
What’s Dunkin’ Donuts without the donuts? This summer, the coffee chain is adding new donuts to its selection: cornbread donuts. Hello, comfort food! These cornbread donuts and donut hole treats are sweet and savory with a corn-cake base and glaze. Again, it’s not vegan, but it’s still a meat-free option.
