This Pumpkin Pie Hummus Recipe Is the Ultimate Fall Snack
pumpkin-pie-hummus-2

It’s that time of year where just about everything is pumpkin-flavored. From pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin ricotta stuffed shells, we can’t get enough! But now it’s time for a seasonal snack, and we have the perfect pick.

When it comes to snack foods, hummus is ridiculously satisfying and easy to prepare. But you probably never thought to add pumpkin to it. Danielle Brown, the recipe developer behind Healthy Girl Kitchen, is always sharing creative and delicious, eco-friendly recipes on TikTok. And her pumpkin pie dessert hummus is no exception.

Using simple ingredients like pumpkin purée, chickpeas, almond butter, and maple syrup, it’s the perfect way to use leftover pumpkin from carving jack-o’-lanterns. Despite being healthy, it doesn’t taste like it. In fact, it’s like you’re dipping apple slices into actual pumpkin pie.

“This pumpkin pie hummus will be your go-to treat for the fall,” Brown says in the video. “You can’t taste the chickpeas at all, and it literally tastes like pumpkin pie filling.”

Want to try out the fall-inspired pumpkin dessert hummus for yourself? Follow along with Brown’s recipe below.

Pumpkin Pie Hummus

Ingredients:

1 can of chickpeas
1/4 cup almond butter
1 1/4 cup pumpkin purée
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla
3 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Add all the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until completely smooth.
2. Pour the mixture into a bowl.
3. Add cinnamon, chocolate chips, or whichever toppings you’d like.
4. Get to dipping! Try apples, pretzels graham crackers, or anything else you have on hand.
