The humble avocado is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Aside from being a superfood packed with healthy fats, potassium, and vitamins, it can also be transformed into pretty much anything. You can enjoy it smashed on toast, in smoothies, in French fry-form, and now as a melt-in-your-mouth dessert.

Brittany Mullins, the creator of Eating Bird Food, shared her go-to avocado chocolate pudding recipe on TikTok and it’s everything you could ever want in a dessert. It’s rich, creamy, silky-smooth, and surprisingly doesn’t taste anything like an avocado. “This creamy chocolate avocado pudding looks super rich and decadent—and tastes like it, too—but it’s actually made healthy,” she says in the video.

Aside from the avocado (aka the star of the show!), this avocado chocolate pudding recipe only requires a few other wholesome ingredients: cocoa powder, non-dairy milk, vanilla, and maple syrup. That’s it. After a quick blend, it’s ready to enjoy. It’s also a great way to use up avocados that are about to expire.

Here’s how to make avocado chocolate pudding for yourself. And yes—make extra, because you’ll definitely want seconds.

Avocado Chocolate Pudding Recipe

Ingredients:

2 avocados
2 1/2 Tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 cup non-dairy milk of choice
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup of maple syrup

Instructions:

1. Add mashed avocado, maple syrup, milk, vanilla, and cocoa powder to a blender.
2. Blend until the ingredients are smooth and creamy.
3. Place into a small mason jar, add your toppings of choice, and enjoy!
