According to the Allbirds website, the standard sneaker emits 12.5 kilograms of carbon dioxide, while this product emits 7.6 kilograms of carbon dioxide. Allbirds has done this by using planet-friendly materials and embracing a business model centered around its “ongoing mantra to create better things in a better way”. Thus, these sneakers are made out of renewable materials and the merino wool inside them also works to minimize odor. They’re flexible, so you don’t have to worry about being uncomfortable on your daily walk or run, and are washing machine friendly.

Allbirds was founded to create footwear from wool fabric. The company has committed to being carbon neutral, and its products are designed with simplicity, comfort, and nature in mind. As a B-Corporation, Allbirds treats the environment as a stakeholder. Further sustainability measures at Allbirds include full transparency regarding materials sourcing, using 90% post-consumer recycled cardboard packaging, and partnering with Soles4Souls, a charity that collects old shoes and redistributes them to those in need.
