Time spent searching can make it difficult to act on values that help drive change in the fashion industry. Everyone needs timeless staples designed around function and style in their wordrobe. Taylor Stitch’s responsibly-made products are a perfect option. This jacket is made with 100% organic cotton. In fact, all of their clothing items are constructed with eco-friendly fabrics from California and will last for years to come. Taylor Stitch is GOTS-certified and although their clothes are made in China, for which they have received lots of criticism over the years, Taylor Stitch claims to offer a safe, solid working environment and workspace compared to surrounding factories.
Taylor Stitch aims to build a better model for the clothing industry from sourcing good products and finding responsible manufacturers. Its products are produced in GOTS-certified factories, are built to last, and encourage less consumption. For every item sold, one pound of trash from the world’s waterways are removed. These jeans are made out of 100% organic cotton and are crafted to maximize comfort. The denim for these jeans was sourced in Italy, and the pants are sewn in Vietnam. They have a copper button and nickel hardware as well.
Outerknown was founded by 11-time World Surf League Champion Kelly Slater and his designer friend, John Moore. The brand is bluesign® certified. Well-designed, quality shoes are intended to be used time and time again. Nisolo provides classic footwear for style and function no matter where you are or what you’re doing. The company pays living wages to those working within their supply chain and makes its products in ethical factories. These shoes are made with leather and rubber and are accompanied by cotton and waxed cotton shoelaces. They are made in Mexico.
Nisolo is a certified B-Corporation committed to designing and producing ethically made products. They encourage their consumers to join their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of footwear by donating to their partner organization, Soles4Souls. Their goal is to collect 5,000 pairs of shoes by the end of 2020. All the while, they also offer consumers the ability to participate in their #LowestWageChallenge campaign where they ask them what their favorite brand on social media is and what their lowest wage is.

All Birds' Tree Dashers Athletic Shoe

According to the Allbirds website, the standard sneaker emits 12.5 kilograms of carbon dioxide, while this product emits 7.6 kilograms of carbon dioxide. Allbirds has done this by using planet-friendly materials and embracing a business model centered around its "ongoing mantra to create better things in a better way". Thus, these sneakers are made out of renewable materials and the merino wool inside them also works to minimize odor. They’re flexible, so you don’t have to worry about being uncomfortable on your daily walk or run, and are washing machine friendly.
Allbirds was founded to create footwear from wool fabric. The company has committed to being carbon neutral, and its products are designed with simplicity, comfort, and nature in mind. As a B-Corporation, Allbirds treats the environment as a stakeholder. Further sustainability measures at Allbirds include full transparency regarding materials sourcing, using 90% post-consumer recycled cardboard packaging, and partnering with Soles4Souls, a charity that collects old shoes and redistributes them to those in need.
